***I received this book as a gift in exchange for an honest review and with participation in this tour.

Finding Flynn is a sexy, sizzling read full of tantalizing moments, laughs, and heartache.

  • Flynn is a HOT, flirty tease. Between his gorgeous green eyes, rock star persona, and giant heart, he’s a total knockout. Absolutely swoon worthy. Just like an Abbi Glines character 😉 (if you’ve read the book you’ll get this). The way he makes Ashtyn blush is glorious. He teases and says the sweetest, sinful things. Sigh. His inner demons are heartbreaking and scarring. His relationship with his father, the sadness over his mother all make him complex and deeply emotional even if he keeps it all inside.
  • The ending is an explosive sucker punch of emotional chaos. Seriously. Heart-stopping, hold-your-breath crazy shock. Talk about an adrenaline rush.
  • Ashtyn and Flynn are scorching together. They have a magnetic ease that is part dirty talk, embarrassment, and crazy attraction. They get each other. Through their mutual love of music and willingness to confide in each other, they’re therapeutic and perfect for each other.

  • Ashtyn’s character is a little underdeveloped. I found myself struggling to get to know her. Apart from her obsession with All Time Low and anger at her situation, her likes and dislikes, her passions are all hazy and rarely mentioned.
  • Flynn and Ashtyn fall hard and fast. Literally in a day and the book takes place over summer. While it does fall into a sweet, sexy summer romance, the intensity of their feelings is sudden and strange. There’s hardly any build up and while their moments are adorable, it’s borderline instalove with a hint of drama.
  • Throughout the story there are hints of this big, catastrophic secret and when it comes out…it doesn’t feel like a huge deal. On top of that, Ashtyn gets so angry and I was confused, why did it matter so much? It wasn’t an end all, horrific, mind-blowing reveal, so her willingness to give up was overly dramatic.

We’re strolling through a nearby empty park. Leaves are dancing in the light breeze, and a creek is babbling gently nearby. It’s quiet and peaceful but it isn’t doing anything to help calm my nerves. Although we came out here to talk, we haven’t said a word. I open my mouth and immediately close it. My mouth is dry like I just spent all day rocking out at Warped Tour, leaving my tongue like a sheet of sandpaper.

I lick my lips hoping to produce some saliva and ask, “Are there any drinking fountains nearby?”

Flynn gets a shit-eating grin and points to a giant statue with fountains on all sides. “Over there.”

I take a giant gulp that I immediately spit right back out. Unfortunately, Flynn is standing within shooting range and gets a mouthful of the nasty liquid, which tastes like coppery rotten eggs. I’m not sure which one of us is more shocked but I can’t hold in the laughter. The pain in my side is almost unbearable.

I almost don’t hear Flynn say, “You think that’s funny, do you?”

Not understanding his tone, I look up to a blazing green fire. I don’t know whether to be scared or seriously turned on. I turn to run but he grabs me and flips me around. My body shakes with fear and desire as Flynn rubs his hands up and down my arms. I don’t speak, too terrified of what I would say but even more terrified of ruining whatever is happening. I nervously gnaw on my bottom lip and he zones right in on it and licks his own.

Leaning forward, I run my hands through his silky hair. He lightly presses his lips to mine, stopping everything around us. Not satisfied with the featherlight kiss, I greedily run my tongue along his bottom lip and use my teeth to gently tug on his lip ring. A guttural groan escapes him, causing my entire body to tingle, right down to my toes. Suddenly I understand what all those girls are feeling in the romance novels I devour. This single kiss will ruin all future kisses for me.

Letting go of his piercing, I push my tongue against his mouth and he grants me access. The moment our tongues tangle, the air around us thickens and everything shifts. Flynn’s hands trail my body. Everywhere he touches, my body is on fire. My back hits cold stone, and I wrap my leg around his waist. Flynn lifts me and both legs hook around him. His hardness hits my sweet spot and I let out a husky moan, causing him to rock against me. My eyes roll back into my head and I throw it back, unable to control myself any longer.

cooltext1889161239 copy“She’s beauty for my ashes. And I’m hope for her heartache.”—Cole Danzer

I don’t know what makes a great love story. Is it that instant attraction when boy meets girl? The passionate kisses and the fairy-tale ending? Or is it a lifetime of tragedy, paid in advance, for a few stolen moments of pure bliss? The pain and the suffering that, in the end, you can say are worth it for having found the missing piece of your soul?

The answer is: I don’t know. I don’t know what makes a great love story. I only know what makes my love story. I only know that finding Cole when I did, when Emmy and I were running from a nightmare, was the only thing that saved me. That saved us. He was more broken than I was, but somehow we took each other’s shattered pieces and made a whole. If that is what makes a great love story, if that is what makes an epic romance, then mine…ours is the greatest of them all.

Contains material that some may find disturbing. Not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Here is a small excerpt from book two in my Fianna Fail series!!!! If you haven’t read book one, Troy, get it now for only $0.99, and get ready for Dylan! Coming March 8th

“Are you going to the fight this weekend? I know Trisha will be there, and I won’t even lie and say I don’t want you to be there.” Dylan’s words make my heart stop and my palms start to sweat. Say no, Raven! You can’t be close to him like this!

“Yeah, I’ll be there.” What? That’s the opposite of no, Raven!

Dylan’s smile is so bright it rivals every star I’ve ever seen. I can’t look away. It’s not one thing in particular about him that pulls me in, it’s everything. How could anyone not want to be close to him? How could I not want to be close to him?

“I’m still not sleeping with you.” I say it just as the door swings open, and an extremely disheveled Trisha and Ethan stumble in. I look at them briefly before I shift my gaze back to Dylan.

His expression is amused as he brings a hand up to run soft fingers over the skin of my cheek. I tense from head-to-toe, but if he notices he doesn’t say anything about it.

“I still haven’t asked.” His words are only loud enough for me to hear, but when I look back at Trisha she is smiling like a kid in a candy store, and I know it’s because of our close proximity.

“Let’s go, man, we have things to take care of.” Ethan’s words seem to snap Dylan out of whatever trance he had been in.

He stands, and my eyes follow his movements until my head is tipping back just to see his face towering above me.

“See you ladies this weekend.” He winks at me, gives a slight wave to Trisha, and then follows Ethan out of the room.

***I received this book as a gift in exchange for an honest review and in participation with this tour.

  • This story does contain triggers. Sexual abuse/rape of a minor. The emotions associated with these scenes as experienced by the protagonist are overwhelming and heartbreaking. Some scenes are more graphic than others. S. Kline does a great job capturing the fear and the moments when Raven collapsed into herself and disassociated with the rape to save herself mentally. The signs of PTSD are poignant and make Raven’s everyday life a constant battle between terror and memory, hope and romance.
  • Dylan is a major playboy. He’s gruff, uber masculine, hyper sexual and uses the f-word more than I thought possible. He’s a playful, cocky tease one moment and a predator seeking out his prey in the form of gorgeous, skanky women. Dylan’s lines are full of innuendo and graphic dirty talk that will make even the most lascivious blush. He knows what he wants and states it in a provocative, honest manner. Despite Dylan’s hit it and quit in mentally of one night stands, lots of alcohol and quite a few joints, he’s a big, gushy sweetheart. He’s got a past that haunts him but never breaks him, a boyish charm that wins over all the ladies (well, that and his delicious body), a mother son bond that is so pure it will make your heart melt and the way his is with Raven and Harper-a gigantic guard dog. Dylan is forgiving, takes no BS, he listens and understands with very little questioning. He accepts and loves with an open heart and mind. Dylan is so many things, BA, violent, stoner, player but he’s also super loyal, loving, compassionate, and sacrifices his needs for those he loves and respects.
  • Raven is a beautifully broken soul. She’s scarred and scared. A victim of a horrific past that continuously haunts her, Raven is trying to overcome the memories of her trauma, one that disgusts and debilitates her when it comes to other men. The fiery, confident girl Raven buried to survive is not gone but lying just beneath the surface and when she rises from the ashes of her past, she’s fierce, strong, and a genuinely good person. Raven has lived with horror so sickening and the repercussions of a twisted molester that left her damaged mentally towards men. Raven doesn’t know how to trust men and even when she’s attracted to Dylan she fights it. She feels as though she is baggage that no man will ever want to take on, that she’s soiled and it’s gut-wrenching to read. Raven is gorgeous inside and out, throughout the story your heart will ache for what she has lost and what she thinks she doesn’t deserve. Raven is a shoulder to cry on, the rock that holds people up when they feel like they’re falling apart, and like Dylan, she can’t hold in the truth, she wears her heart on her sleeve.
  • Steven in the most repulsive human being. His words are almost worse than his actions. The threats he makes, the possessive way her marks, hurts, and claims Raven is disgusting and absolutely despicable. It kills me how complacent people can be, how they can turn a blind eye to something so obvious or just not care. There were a lot of things to hope for in this story but my greatest was that Steven got what was coming to him. S. Kline got his smarmy, vindictive, sadistic personality down pat and OMG you’ll want to tear him apart.
  • Dylan and Raven are PERFECT for each other. A balance of heady lust and curiosity, their attraction builds into something much more potent. They’re scorching hot together. The chemistry is off the charts. Some scenes are avert your eyes, blush-worthy bliss. Graphic, passionate, and all out sexy. That dirty talk. You will have chills.
  • The secondary characters have strong personalities. Most are memorable, wonderful people who have always got Dylan and Raven’s back.

  • Dylan’s infatuation with Raven escalated at an unbelievable pace that sometimes felt rushed but never dishonest. The romance builds in an explosion of raw lust and genuine emotion that reads as beautifully sappy and oh so sexy. The L-word hit hard and fast, so quick that it was startling and had me questioning whether it was indeed love or that Dylan was simply captivated by the first woman who rejected him.
  • For someone who doesn’t often read mob stories, references to the group and scenes that happened in a previous book (I was unaware this was a series and I’m gathering this is book 2) were confusing and tripped me up. I found myself going back to skim and see if I missed something.
  • Violent scenes including the Irish brothers were cut off and shortened. There are leaps from one scene to the next that were lacking transition.
  • An unexpected escape left me puzzled. How? There were no answers and because there was no explanation, it seemed as though it was randomly inserted for extra drama.

4/5 Stars
What I absolutely adore about Theresa Troutman’s Love’s Great Adventures series is that it reads like a modern fairy tale with very real and relevant problems. Love This Life follows former playboy Sebastian and straight-laced, honors student Tess on their first years at NYU. An enchanting and deeply satisfying read, Love This Life does not shy away from the hardships of first love but glorifies the many triumphs over them. Sebastian and Tess are hopelessly, shamelessly in love and nothing is going to stop them from achieving their dreams as long as they have each other.
  • Sebastian has grown so much from the vigilante charmer we met in the first book. He’s level-headed, a planner, focusing on what needs to be done and finding creative ways to do it. Sebastian is lighthearted and so attentive. He brings Tess out of her darkness and fills it with light from his everlasting, pure love. Sebastian has goe from someone entirely conceited and self-absorbed to a man who is honest, willing to give up his life so that his beloved can have hers. Sebastian is still the flirty, debonair heart throb of book one but he’s so much more now. He’s able to juggle everything and still find little ways to brighten Tess’ day, her happiness is everything to him, so much so that he lays his heart on the line as asks her to trample it as long as she comes back to him. It’s crazy and tear-worthy romantic how deeply his love for Tess is. Meanwhile, Sebastian is using his playful personality and dashing looks to break in to the art world, networking and equipped with his keen eye he’s able to invest and recommend unlike anyone else.
  • The brief glimpses of the art of the 1980s and 90s capture Sebastian’s heart and foster his ambition. The vibrant pop art of Andy Warhol and the Pollock splatter paintings bring this story into reality, the reader is able to find the pieces and examine them, adding a new level of authenticity to Tess and Sebastian’s story. The art choices are fun, quirky, and suit Sebastian so well. There’s nothing more sexy than a classy man who can hold his own in an artistic, intelligent conversation one moment and be playful and flirtatious the next.
  • The letters from Europe, though short highlight the magical, time suspension of Europe. Combining the ancient with the late 20th century, the sights, tastes, and sounds that Tess experiences are ones that anyone who has been to Europe can attest to and reminisce over. The food descriptions will leave you salivating. I am obsessed with macarons and those violet ones…serious food envy.
  • That speech. Sighs. Total swooning, heart-melting overload.
  • Dan is gorgeous. That unfortunate scene, though horrible for the couple was sweltering.
  • Tess’ confusion is understandable. As someone who had never dated nor been in love before Sebastian, there’s bound to be temptation and curiosity about what else is out there. Though this aspect of the plot probably had many readers cringing and eager to strangle Tess, it makes sense. A lot of the time, it’s easy to step over the hard truths and go with the gleeful, unrealistic happy option but this is raw and emotional, pushing Tess to make hard choices about her life and figure out who she is.
  • The sex scenes really heat up and are full of exploration and lavish love. Sebastian teases and cherishes Tess to the point of insanity. Not too graphic.
  • Tess gets really irritating about 3/4 of the way through the book. She’s a bit like a child having a major tantrum and is excessively petulant over her circumstances. It broke my heart the way she reacted to the perfect news and her fierce determination to ignore the situation and remain in denial took away from her compassionate character while sticking to her headstrong personality. Sometimes you just want to grab Tess by the shoulders and shake her, yell at her to wake up and appreciate her life, she seems so spoiled. While she does sacrifice a lot and is always conscious of their expenses it seems like if she doesn’t have her way she flips out. Luckily, Sebastian is there to grant her every whim.
  • Apart from Tess and Sebastian, most of the other characters were fleeting. Sigourney did have a larger role but others were kind of pushed off to the side, effectively isolating Tess and Sebastian in a way that exacerbated Tess’ issues. I found myself missing Penny of all people and Lady Irons. The drama was muted on that end and so many questions from book one were left unanswered. Bring back Holly Golightly (my envisioning of Penny).
cooltext1543397102 copySebastian walked into the condo to find Tess dressed and ready to go. She was standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Manhattan, the lights of the city twinkling and bright. He walked up behind her and placed his hands on her shoulders. “Happy birthday, Tess.”

Tess turned around to face him. “I like the new suit. You look very dapper.”

“You take my breath away,” he whispered, leaning in to kiss her. The kiss was quick and sweet. Sebastian took her hand, saying, “Follow me.”

He guided Tess to the guest bedroom and opened the door. Inside, the bistro table was dressed with their finest linens, china, silver, and crystal.

“It’s just like the efficiency,” Tess said, looking over at Sebastian.

“I wanted to re-create the first time I cooked you dinner. I hope you don’t mind we’re not going out tonight.”

Tess threw her arms around his neck. “I love it!”

Sebastian escorted her to the table and pulled out the chair. Tess sat down and quickly unlaced the straps of her shoes, kicking them off under the table. She admired the centerpiece of roses and inhaled the fragrant scent of the blossoms.

He left the room momentarily, and then returned with Alice in tow. She placed salad plates on table. “Sebastian cooked dinner, I’m just helping out for tonight. I hope you enjoy it,” she said to Tess.

Tess didn’t touch her salad; she simply stared at Sebastian, a single tear of joy escaping her eye. “Thank you so much. This is perfect. You remembered every detail.”

Sebastian reached over and took her hand. “You’re welcome, darling.”

Alice continued to bring course after course to the couple as they enjoyed their dinner. They talked with ease. Sebastian couldn’t help but wonder if things were finally getting back to normal.

At the end of the meal, Alice bought a birthday cake to the table. It was six-inch round chocolate cake with buttercream icing. There was one candle on top of the cake, glowing like a beacon.

“If that’s all, I think I’ll leave you for the evening,” Alice said, handing the knife to Tess.

            “Thank you, Alice.”

Alice winked at them and closed the door as she left the room.

            “Make a wish.”

Tess closed her eyes, waited a moment, and then blew out the candle. “It’s too pretty to eat,” she lamented.

“We don’t have to eat it right now,” Sebastian said, standing up from the table. He offered his hand to Tess, who willingly took it.

Sebastian escorted her into the living room. He walked over to the CD player and hit the play button. Roxy Music’s Avalon started playing. “Dance with me.” He swept Tess up in his arms and moved to the music, swaying to the slow, melodic song. Tess pressed into him, leaning her head on his shoulder.

When the song was over, Sebastian looked at Tess and saw the happiness in her eyes. He felt as if he had recaptured a magic time they had shared long ago. Sebastian raised her hand to his cheek and tenderly kissed her palm. “I love you, Tess.”

He felt the time was right, so he got down on one knee, reached into his jacket pocket, and pulled out a red Cartier box. “You’re my world. Marry me and I promise I will spend every day for the rest of my life making you happy,” Sebastian said, opening the box to reveal a stunning 1/2-carat Asscher cut diamond set in 18-karat gold.

Tess looked down at Sebastian: his eyes were full of love, his expression full of hope. She honestly hadn’t been expecting a proposal, especially in light of their current situation. Tess had gotten her wish. All she wanted was to move forward with Sebastian, and here he was presenting her with the opportunity. She certainly wasn’t about to let it slip away. “Yes. All I want is you.”

Sebastian stood up and removed the ring from the red box. Tess held out her trembling left hand, and Sebastian slipped the ring on her finger. It fit perfectly; that didn’t surprise Tess at all.

A tear escaped the corner of Sebastian’s eye and Tess brushed it away with her thumb. “Don’t cry,” she begged.

“I’m so happy you said yes,” he admitted, feeling simultaneously relieved and elated.

Tess stood on her tiptoes and crushed her lips against his. Sebastian didn’t hold back this time; he put all his pent-up emotions into the kiss. It was tender at first, and then it spread like wildfire, hot and eager, setting his heart racing.

Tess pulled away, gasping for air. “Make love to me, Sebastian.”

10 Things You Didn’t Know About Theresa Troutman and The Love’s Great Adventure Series.

To celebrate the release of book two – Love This Life, I wanted to share some little know insider info with you and your readers.

1. The playlist consists of songs from the 1980s, the period that the story takes place. The playlist is an alternative way to telling the story and the lyrics parallel what is happening is Sebastian’s life. Older readers will recognize these songs, but I hope to introduce younger readers to music of that decade.

2. Life’s What You Make It was originally called: Nanny, Charles and Me. It was told from Tess Hamilton’s point of view. I switched to Sebastian Iron’s point of view because he is such a flawed character and I wanted to take the reader of his journey to redemption.

3. The book Brideshead Revisited by Evelyn Waugh inspired me to start writing this book back in 1984. As the years progressed, Downton Abbey and Gossip Girl are other shows that are similar in genre. If you’re a fan of these shows, I think you’ll enjoy Life’s What You Make It.

4. I kept the time period for Life’s What You Make It in the 1980s. Why? Life was so much simpler—no internet or cell phones. It was easier to go undetected back then. Now everybody know what you’re doing thanks to social media. Also, it wasn’t uncommon for high school sweethearts to get married.

5. Sebastian Irons died in the first draft of the book.

6. When beta readers finished the first book, many of they said, “Do they get married?” This inspired me to write Love This Life. I fell in love with Sebastian and Tess and had so much fun writing them, I didn’t want to let them go. The final book in the series is called London Loves and will take place five years after Love This Life. I’m currently writing it and looking to release in September 2014.

7. I’m an avid traveler and have traveled to Australia seven times in the past twenty-five years. That’s the equivalent of being on an airplane for two weeks straight!

8. I was married when I was nineteen years old and I’m still with the same guy! We don’t have any children. (Does a crazy dog count?)

9. When I was young, I wanted to be a film director. Guess I like telling people what to do, so being a writer suits me perfectly.

10. I owned my own cafe and photo gallery in the 1990s in a town called Intercourse, PA. (It is a real town in Amish country right between Bird and Hand and Blue Ball – really don’t know what inspired the Amish to name their towns!)

4.5/5 Stars

Fever is a sweet and charming love story set to the sultry tune of Ella Fitzgerald. It’s a hot, serendipitous explosion of passion and awakening that will leave you breathless and completely elated. In the vein of such classics as Notting Hill and Love Actually, Fever is a real, contemplative contemporary that is not so much about happy endings as the journey and the perfection of love when it’s so right.

  • Fever is one of those delicious love stories that you keep going back to with a happy little smile. It’s a feel good read that lifts your spirits and warms your heart with its meet cutes and fiery chemistry. There’s something so simple and powerful about Cole and Ella, they’re dynamic together, full of wonderful understanding and bubbling excitement just being in each other’s presence. It’s the kind of love that anyone would want, made of uncontrollable passion and complete knowledge of each other at a soul level.
  • The shower singing scenes are sexy. The way the characters play off of one another, finishing song lyrics and combining into this giddy expectation of the eventual reveal is just wow. Every time they sing the air is ripe with anticipation and budding attraction, the scenes are unbelievably cute. Ella’s conflicted emotions over how her body reacts to the rough, soulful voice that answers her song is palpable. The sense that she’s falling hard for a stranger at the mere sound of his voice speaks to the power of music, its ability to transcend and connect, speaking truth to our emotions when we barely know what we feel. Cole’s excitement, his desperation to meet the angelic songstress in the stall over is adorable. He can’t get this vision of the perfect woman with a fierce love of jazz from his thoughts and the fact that he too is enraptured by the voice of a stranger parallels Ella’s in such a way that it feels like destiny.
  • Ella is scared, she lacks confidence, and after her tragic past, she hasn’t been able to escape the walls she put up that would allow her to take risks and put her heart on the line. All Ella desires is stability and safety. She wants a sure thing and is willing to settle to achieve this. Ella is timid, subservient, and eager to please her boyfriend and this is largely due to her fear of the unknown. As Ella feels a stirring in her blood at the magical voice of the man in the shower, it’s as if something buried deep inside her has awakened and her realization that not everything is as perfect as it seemed starts to break down her walls. Ella no longer knows what she wants and must choose between her heart and her head. Music is what brings Ella to life and it’s an intoxicating revelation when Ella lets herself embrace who she is and projects it out into the world. She’s free and fused with light and purity.
  • Cole has dreams, he knows who he is and is an erotic, edgy, and crazy masculine flirt. He too is clouded by a dark past but lets his goals push his forward towards the future. Cole didn’t have time for love and didn’t think he wanted it but love looks good on him. His undeniable attraction to Ella despite the complications drive him to insanity. He wants, he needs, and it feels like she’s the missing piece he never knew he needed at a near primal level. Cole grows as the plot pushes on, maturing and learning to love.
  • Madison and Jody are those boisterous, honest girlfriends that force Ella out of her comfort zone and tell it like it is. They bring fun and life to the plot with their blunt and hilarious comments.
  • Ella and Cole’s friendship is full of raw and heartbreaking confessions that enable Ella to move on a little and are really freeing. In Cole she finds someone who gets it, who knows what she’s going through and can comfort her unlike anyone else. They compliment each other, encouraging dreams and expressing sincere concern over their happiness.
  • The moment when they both know what the reader does, the reveal is bittersweet and destabilizing. Everything crashes down and the uncertainty about the future is enough to put the reader on edge and hope against all odds that they will come to their senses.
  • The music sets the mood and enhances the emotions of each scene, raising the tension to new heights and adding a floating, content and romantic addition to the story.

  • Ella’s lack of a backbone is truly irritating at times. The way David takes away her voice and presumes to know her so well that he neglects her opinions and pushes his dreams on her is horrible. What’s worse is that she doesn’t say anything. This drove me crazy, the urge to smack some sense into her is almost impossible to ignore.

I can’t get her to look at me, I think she’s ashamed that she has no experience to go with. When I’m finally begging, she looks up and I can’t help it. She looks so lost, so sad. I know that she just needs the courage, but how will she ever find it if she doesn’t know what the reward is like? So I lean over, I place my hand on her cheek, and my lips on hers. She doesn’t freak out, so I use my tongue to entice her. I run it along her lower lip. I feel her breathing pick up and I’m nervous she’ll push me away, but when she doesn’t I try to coax her lips apart so I can really kiss her. When she opens them, her tongue meets mine and I have to keep repeating to myself, “Slow, slow, slow,” or my body might take over and try to push her past her limits. She’s not ready for more than this.

I don’t let myself linger too long. I would love to kiss her all night, but she needs baby steps. I need to give her that or this won’t work. “I’m sorry. I couldn’t help myself, but I should’ve made sure it was okay first.” I say it knowing that she needed the surprise of it or it would’ve never happened.

Her response takes me by surprise, “Don’t. Be. Sorry.” She is breathing hard and can’t form a sentence. I love it. That means she loved it. When she brings her hand up to touch her lips, I know I can make this better for her. I stop her hand with mine and leaving the other on her cheek, I lean back in for a deeper kiss. She responds immediately. I make this one longer, but not much. This time when I pull back, we are both panting for air.

“Wow.” A simple statement from her confirming that she liked it.

With a glance Wyatt Doran stole Harley Tatum’s heart. With each summer that passed, touch by touch, they robbed each other’s innocence, birthing a love that was so deep that it scorched within. Without warning, they were ripped from the clutches of each other, placed in lives that were worlds apart. Only to cross paths after a freak accident where Harley’s horse rig was flipped. An accident that Wyatt Doran, from fire station 32, responded.

The tension was immediate, the emotions were raw. One breath told them they were not the same as before, one touch…changed their world.

She didn’t even dare to open her door. Instead, she climbed out her window like she had done a million times over.

She ran across the lawn as fast as her legs would carry her. She saw her mother standing with the driver of the town car, her father speaking with the driver of the rig. She ran right past them with only one goal in mind.

When Wyatt opened his eyes, he saw a rig backed into his barn, saw Danny Boy’s tack trunk being loaded, could have sworn he heard him being loaded. He took off toward his door as fast as he could. Right as he opened it, Harley fell into his arms and they both gasped on contact. His lips found hers; the kiss they gave each other was desperate, a gallows kiss, one that you poured every emotion into. He broke away, only to hold her as tight as he could as he buried his face in her hair, breathing her in, telling every sense he had to burn her even deeper into his mind.

“I love you, Harley. You’re safe. I’ll fix it.”

She was crying too hard to say a word. Clenching him, her nails dug into his back. Wyatt’s eyes were burning, and he squinted them closed, only to beg whoever was listening upstairs to stop this, to give him some kind of power to stop this.

He opened his eyes when he felt a presence spill into the room. Garrison Tatum was standing in the threshold of his doorway. Wyatt couldn’t read the look on his face; it was somewhere between fury and agony.

“I love you, Wyatt. Always, no matter what,” Harley was saying over and over between her desperate crying.

Wyatt leaned back, looked in her eyes, did his best to brush away the tears. “This is too real, too deep, too powerful for them to stop us. I love you.”

I’m an obsessive daydreamer. Lover of loud alternative music. Addicted to Red Bull. I love to laugh until it hurts. Fall is my favorite season. Black is my favorite ‘shade.’ Strong believer in the saying: there is a reason for everything, therefore I search for ‘marked moments’ every moment of everyday…and I find them. Life is beautiful!

Jamie Magee has always believed that each of us have a defining gift that sets us apart from the rest of the world, she has always envied those who have known from their first breath what their gift was. Not knowing hers, she began a career in the fast paced world of business. Raising a young family, and competing to rise higher in that field would drive some to the point of insanity, but she always found a moment of escape in a passing daydream. Her imagination would take her to places she’d never been, introduce her to people she’s never known. Insight, her debuting novel, is a result of that powerful imagination. Today, she is grateful that not knowing what defined her, led her on a path of discovery that would always be a part of her.

Gypsy Rae Choszer grew up in valley below Mount Timpanogos where she watched the apricot trees in her backyard bloom every spring. When she was eighteen she packed her bags and ran away to the exotic locale of Mesa Arizona to begin the work of being an adult.
Gypsy’s love of reading began as a child when her mom would take her to their local library and let her bring home stacks of whatever she wanted.
In her spare time she likes to explore photography, make jewelry, and eat chocolate.
When she’s not writing, you can find Gypsy hanging out at home with her husband and best friend, their three children, a neurotic dog, and four chickens. However, Gypsy knows her family will not be complete until she brings home a peacock and a goat.
